My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made. that changed my health and my entire life. Hello, and welcome to this week's quick IQ episode, where we talk about insights and questions. And today I have a really great question from a listener that actually opens up some very powerful insight and also some misconceptions when it comes to healing. And the question came from social media from actually from Instagram.

And I love that because there's just been more questions coming through social media and email. It just, it's beautiful. I just, I love the questions and insights and awareness and just the conversation of it all. So I love that. And. Today's question or comment, how it started out was based on last week's IQ episode.

So if you remember last week we had been talking about being in the present moment and how you want to set your mind up for healing and being present and all of that. We were talking about Oprah's quote and we really unpacked that further and we talked about the importance of both being in the present moment.

And having an excitement for the future. And that's important for healing, that really having both is key. And we had also talked about, you know, if you have a lot of uncertainty towards the future, so much so that it starts to feel kind unsafe, or you have resistance, or you're not sure how to proceed forward and it just, it doesn't feel safe, then it can also impact you.

And so, if you recall, we were talking about the importance of both feeling really great in the now, And also an excitement for the future. And that combination is important for the healing process. And if you missed that episode, then I'd strongly recommend going back and listening to it and taking it in.

But today's episode is actually a comment that came from that episode by a beautiful being on Instagram. And she messaged in and she said, you know, my interpretation of being in the present To check in with my feelings, do I really feel like I would? if my aspired situation, such as health, relationships, et cetera, was already in my reality.

Now, this is the part that I want to unpack because this is a very common misconception that people have all of the time. And this was a huge misconception that I had that kept me stuck on my own healing journey. And it's this, you know, all the time you hear exactly that you hear people say, well, just feel how you would feel.

If it was already yours, you know, feel how it would feel if the relationship or the healing or whatever it was, feel how you would feel if it was already manifested as part of your reality. But, when it comes to health, it's not about already believing or feeling. Like it's already there. There's more to it.

You know, if you think about all of the volunteer episodes where I'll take a volunteer who is currently experiencing pain or some type of physical ailment and I help them to use their mind to shift it, when you stop and think about it, out of all of the episodes that I've done that with, I've never asked somebody to think about pain.

what it would feel like if they were healed and fully healthy. Instead, the things that I am asking them to do or working with them on has to do with getting rid of negative emotions, you know, really shifting those emotions. And a simple way to put it, is, you know, if somebody is embarrassed, their face turns red, or even somebody has a lot of anxiety, they have a panic attack, you know, so different emotions affect our body differently.

Or even if you think about a sexual thought creates a physical sexual response. And so different emotions affect the physical body in a different way. And when I'm working with somebody, I'm not asking them to, you know, just feel how they would feel. if they were already healthy, but instead I'm helping them to shift some type of negative emotional link in their subconscious mind.

And so that is key. And it might seem like a small distinction, but it's huge. You know, during my injury, I can tell you that there were many, many, many years that I spent so much time trying to convince myself I was already healthy. I was already healed and feel like I was already healed and force myself to believe I was already healed and doing affirmations and chants, and I mean literally everything I could possibly think of meditations and recordings and everything I could think of to make myself feel like I was already healed.

And yet it was still a mess. It didn't change my health. It didn't change my life. I was, I was still in pain. I had all of these things going on, but. Then when I learned to use the mind in a different way, that's when I started to realize about underlying links in the subconscious mind and emotional factors and, you know, there was just so much more to it.

Now, some of the research that I found that really made me start looking outside of that old way, because you do, you hear things like, Oh, well, the placebo is all about belief. You know, like people think that the placebo works. Because they believe it's going to work, but there's also the open label placebo.

And if you're not familiar with the open label placebo, it's where both the doctor and the patient both know it's a fake pill and it's still been shown to work. And so, point being, is that it's not all about belief. There's more going on in the mind than people realize. And so on that note, the takeaway that you'll really want to get from this is if you are somebody who has been spending a long time wanting to, you know, manifest your aspired situation such as health, relationship, et cetera, et cetera, remember ultimately what you want to do.

is create an emotional shift in the subconscious mind. And even if you think about other, again, volunteer episodes, that's exactly what I'm doing is I'm helping them to create that shift so you can really just maybe re listen in and notice That ultimately that's the focus is to really create an emotional shift to get rid of that negative energy and to really create that shift towards feeling positive.

If you are somebody who's wanting that deeper level of understanding, and again, you know, simply, very, very, very simply put, there are just multiple shifts that need to happen in the subconscious mind where you're really getting rid of negative links in the subconscious and really creating that shift.

And so, you know, I have to say this question, I love this, this comment. I love this question that she put on here, just because I can tell you, even Reading her comment, it just, it literally reminded me of exactly where I was in my injury when I was trying to do that very thing. And I had been trying for years and years to do that.

And I see that so often with so many others who have been stuck for years. doing that same thing as well. So it may seem like a small distinction, but I can tell you that it was a huge distinction for me and it radically changed my life. And I can tell you that all of the time, again, all the time I see people stuck in this exact place.

So I just want to invite you to think outside of the box, think in a different way. And of course, please do subscribe. Make a point to hit the share button on this, you know, share it with somebody you love or somebody who you know is stuck in this same place. Have them look at things in a different way because it really is a major pivotal perspective in my own healing and thousands of people that I've worked with where they really start to see things in a different way.

And the shift is like, to me, it felt like going from a place of hoping and waiting for the universe to heal me to then feeling like there was something that I could do and I just had to figure it out, but that I could embrace the change and get real results. And so I hope that that's the feeling that you have in your life is starting to look at this in a different way where, you know, maybe you go listen to the full training and you have that perspective, or maybe you relisten to a volunteer episode.

And you really notice the shifts that I'm making with them and you realize that You really can do this in your life.
