My name is Brandy Gillmore, and after recovering from my own life-changing injury, it's become my mission to share with others the same discoveries I made that changed my health and my entire life. Hello and welcome to today's quick IQ episode where we talk about insights and questions. And today I wanna talk about the importance of overcoming feelings of uncertainty or adversity or fear, and really stepping into your strength and. Looking at the importance of this, because let's be honest, we know that fear can affect your health, affect your life, and so often when there's a lot of uncertainty or adversity, people can get stuck in fear.

And the more you get stuck in fear, the more it can affect every area of your life from your health and your happiness to even your relationships. Because if you're in fear. It's not healthy for building a relationship that really feels loving and full of life and, and just is enjoyable. And so I wanna talk about that for a moment because so often people think, well, if everything around us is full of uncertainty or full of fear, then we are stuck there or even suppressing it.

And by the way, that was something that I did. During my own injury. You know, I, if you are familiar with my story, I had all this fear regarding the events of nine 11 and I suppressed it. I didn't even know I had this ongoing fear and of course, survivors guilt. I mean, I had so many different emotions from the events of nine 11 and I didn't even realize it.

I had suppressed it so much. I thought I was fine and I was on the surface until I realized that all of these other emotions were affecting my health, my life, my happiness, everything. But I didn't realize it. I didn't even know it. And so when we go through like stressful times or uncertain times, we can suppress emotions that can impact us.

And that's what you wanna make sure not to do. And again, sometimes people will think, well, if there's a bunch of uncertainty going on. I can't help but suppress it, and yet you can actually transform yourself in the middle of all that. In fact, if you're familiar with my story, when I really came to Full Health and healing was 2010, which going through like 2009 is when I was figuring it out and I was getting back working without, you know, walking without my cane.

So I was healing. Going through 2009 and into the beginning of 2010, I was really figuring out how to heal myself and get my life back when at that time there was so much uncertainty in the world. And so that's my point is that no matter where you are. You don't have to get sucked into the uncertainty or the fear or the overwhelm or stress of the world around us.

You can rise above that and that is exactly how I healed. You know, during a, what many people would've considered a very stressful and uncertain time. You know, 2008 recession, 2009, the great res, you know, all of that. It was all a mess. And yet. I was in the process of healing. So I wanna invite you to think about that, whether you're working on healing yourself or rising above, or not getting sucked into the negative.

Either way you wanna make a point to grow during this time, and this is a way you might wanna think about it on a spiritual note or even a, a natural note, if you will, with simplicity is if you think about a tree, for example, trees. Can grow a lot during the wind. And so what happens is their stems and their trunk actually grows more during this.

If there's a lot of wind. Now what can happen is that it then enables them. To stand even taller. Okay? So if you think about it, and by the way, part of the reason I know this, I love palm trees, absolutely love them. And I started growing some inside my house, right? I wanted them to grow big and strong. And what I started doing was actually putting fans on them so that they would grow stronger, like the, the trunk would grow stronger.

So that they could grow taller and healthier and stand up stronger. And that's ultimately what happened in my own life and what I see happen with people all of the time, is that if there's some type of adversity or stress that instead of ignoring it or caving to it and going into fear mode, if you stand up.

Embrace your strength. What happens is ultimately, not only can you withstand the wind, so to speak, but it also gives you the ability to grow stronger and to stand taller, if you will. And so that's the insight, or part of the insight that I wanna share with you today, is that anytime we go through an adversity, you know, if you're, there's a lot of uncertainty right now.

We have options. We could live in fear, we could try to ignore it and suppress the fear, or we could go stronger and we could say, okay, look it. I'm gonna bring out the best in myself. I'm gonna grow even stronger, even taller. I'm gonna have a vision. I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna create my life and really step into your strength, and that's my invitation to you.

Just because I know that I'm hearing the buzz all around of people doing exactly that. They have this fear and this stress, or they're trying to avoid it, or they're talking about it, or they're a victim to it. But instead, that's the question that I wanna ask you is how do you. Step into even more certainty and even more strength to take your life to the next level.

Now, by the way, during my injury when I was working on healing myself, I didn't heal in a time of certainty. I healed in a time of uncertainty, but what I told myself is I said, look, if my thoughts help create my life, I just need to make sure that I'm getting the right thoughts in every day and my vision in every day, every day, every day that I'm really working on reprogramming my subconscious mind that.

I'm in control of my emotions, so getting my vision and not going into the negative, but instead really doing that and then building myself. I said, look, it, as long as I have myself, I can flourish, but I need to make sure that I have my mindset, I need to focus on where I wanna go and make steps towards that.

With that level of confidence and determination and focus in my mindset of not filling it full of the fear, but instead reinforcing the strength, reinforcing the focus, and really staying focused and strong in where I wanted to go, I became a stronger person. And so I wanna invite you to look at this in your life, because let's be honest, we all know during times of wind, if you will, of, of turbulence or uncertainty, some people they feel like stressed or they're, uh, feeling weakened by it or fearful by it, and it, or you become stronger by it.

Again, going back to the tree, you know, a strong wind can come through and. Knock some trees over, but others will become stronger because of that. And so I wanna, and not because of the wind, it's because they decided to grow to stand stronger. And so that's what I wanna invite you to do in your life is not to get sucked in.

To the wind or the uncertainty, but instead to say, okay, that you're going to stand your ground, that you're going to focus stronger and focus more and bring in even more strength and even more certainty and focus on that and not fill your mind with the negative, but instead get very focused on where you wanna go and fill your mind with that.

So that's the insight that I wanna share with you today, or the reminder. But taking this to the next level, because again, I know right now there are people who are saying, oh my gosh, there's this stress or this stress, and how can I heal myself? How can I get better? How can I do this? Or they're frustrated or resentful towards it, or fearful or angry or whatnot, and they create all of these negative feelings.

Which unfortunately can affect your health and your life and your energy, and so don't get stuck. That's the biggest thing you wanna remember. Don't get stuck in it. And also remember that nobody's gonna make you live your best life. Nobody's gonna make you not get stuck in the fear. Nobody's gonna make you not be angry or not resentful.

It's up to you. And so I wanna remind you to remember, to remember that now more than ever and moving forward and, and, but just taking in the strength, the focus, the determination, the blissful determination. I. To take your life in the direction you wanna go, your life, your health, your healing, your happiness, you're in control of your mindset.

Make sure to remember, to remember to do that, to use it to its fullest. So that said, that's the insight.
